Learning musicality is one of the many components to becoming a social dancer. One of the most important things you can do, right from the start, is download one of the metronome apps we use in class and use it for practice.
Bachata dancers: Turn the counting voice on and turn off all instruments except the bongos. start your practice between 95bpm (beats per minute) and 105bpm. You can increase you speed once you can do ALL your footwork at that speed comfortably.
Salsa Dancers: Turn the counting voice on and the congas, piano, bass guitar, and clave. Start your practice between 100bpm & 110bpm.

Once you have your App purchased, then click on the link below for the playlist of your choice. Listen to these at the gym, on your commute, while you are cleaning house, etc. If you find a song that resonates with you, there is a good chance you will love more songs from the same artist!
